It is not wood, but on 9,000 Mt Lemmon, (outside of Tucson, AZ) there is a tower on top the mountain put up by (I think) the UofA for some weather something or other. It is about 100 feet, lots of stuff on it and it is made of some type of scaffolding. It has stairs so you can walk up the tower! It is put together just like scaffolding with hammer in pins to hold the sections together. Weirdest thing I have ever seen! But, it has not fell down yet.
