Thanks to everyone for the help.

Is incredible, but was my stupid fault, I hope.

I miss to add the X hats!, so hope this is the problem.

I have the antenna on the ground so I take off the X hats to not broke them.

Trying to do all the antenna work with not much time is a bad idea, I think
the right thing is to do all slowly and with time to think.

Thanks!!

The Cushcraft 40-2CD has no traps, just small loading coils, which should be

easy to test with an ohm meter if you take the antenna back down. An open
coil on the driven element will cause a very high SWR.

Hello,

I am reinstalling my 40-2CD.

He was not working, so I take it down. Seems a thunder trike hit it, because
the coaxial was burn in the top. I replace balun (I replaced balun and
coaxial to be sure the problem is not here, put it up, but still with high
SWR in all the band.

Maybe a problem in the traps? Looking them seems not to be a problem. Is
there any way to check the traps to know if someone have a problem?

Any suggestion how can I check it?

Thanks in advance!!

Jorge
