I finally bought my own 65' truck.  The truck it's self isn't bad.  $500 
every year or two for certification (I'm not going 70' in the air in an 
untrustworthy rig).  $500+++ for ONE blown tire (I drove it to the tire 
shop).  $3000 for a bucket leveling valve, $2700 to install and calibrate 
same.  The list goes on and on.

I bought the truck for two reasons.  One, I can't always get a rental rig 
when I need one.  Two, it costs me roughly $700 per day for a 60' list, 
including delivery and pickup.

But as Greg said, it's the ONLY way to do this work.  Using a lift is SOOOO 
much safer than climbing.  And if something happens to you, people and the 
ground can just lower you down via the lift.  Very safe.

A special note that many forget about though.  These rigs are very very 
heavy.  If you've got an old water silo, septic tank etc., you'll likely 
find it when you fall in.  Make sure you know what's under you.  Also be 
careful on lawns or muddy ground.  They can sink and tip easier than you'd 
think.

And wear that safety belt!!!!!!  I've seen these things get stuck.  I've 
heard of them dumping the buckets upside down.  I've heard of them falling 
over or breaking.  I've heard of the bottom of the buckets dropping out. 
They are much much safer than climbing, but they aren't like standing on the 
ground either.
