Sampling... use 80lb fishing line, tie to old rope, pull through, tie to new rope, pull back do end-to-end splice (either braided or twisted rope) with braided rope, use wire to connect ends, tape to smoothe with braided rope, use fine twine and sew the ends together 73, Pete N4ZR
