Like "Caplugs(r)"?  or the soft squishy ones?  I recall seeing the 
latter at a hardware store for putting over the end of tubing.  You also 
see them used in furniture.  Maybe a wander through the aisle with all 
the furniture repair stuff (casters, glides, etc.)
