The ones I'm used to are almost identical to the ones linked earlier.  
You grab the hook with either hand, the thumb rests on the lock release 
while the fingers curl around the opening.  Press with your thumb which 
releases the latch and your fingers open the hook.  Simple, fast, and 
effective.
