Well all I am surprised that the list admin has not shut this down...

I for one have had great success with Wild Blue.

MAYBE what you need to do is actually talk to your neighbors and see what 
they use.

When we moved here 18 years  ago General Telephone was doing a whopping 28k 
or so...

All the people in our group of 8 homes on 5 acres or so that have internet 
capability are using
W.B.

No it's not the fastest but it works  and much better than 26.4 on dialup.

Maybe Hughes net or whatever it is called works better but W.B. was 
available here first and I also use  Dishnetwork
for TV after we abandoned or C band dish.

Go find out what works for your neighbors and QUIT bitching about the 
others!
