[TowerTalk] Delta Loop Feed

Here's what I use: It is an 80M delta loop fed at the TOP with 600 ohm open
wire line. It is an 'open' loop, in other words there is an insulator in the
center at the bottom. This antenna mathematically is a 1/2 wave on 160M, a
full-wave loop on 80M, a 2 wave loop on 40M.
I don't believe in modeling antennas. If you put up an antenna and it works
leave it up. This antenna has been up more than 5 years. If an antenna
doesn't work take it down and try something else. Computers don't work DX,
my station works the DX.

p.s. I've tried feeding it at the bottom in the center, and I've tried
feeding it at a corner, I finally settled on feeding it at the top.

I have no good experience and haven't modeled, BUT we did put up a 40m delta
at FD one yr.
It was an interesting exercise.
We left the wire free to run at the corners, connected an analyzer, and slid
the wire around until we got a match. Sho 'nuf, perfect 1/1. As I recall,
the feed ended up near one corner.

We made lots of contacts and rarely had to call twice, even in FD condx!
