Hiya Jim,

That'll really depend on a number of factors.

What frequency are you using?

What kind of cable is involved?

Here's a very slick calculator from www.timesmicrowave.com.  Almost all of 
the coax I use is LMR cable from them.

I don't know if Andrew or anyone else has a similar mechanism.
