Roger,

Are you saying you've had crimp N-connectors go bad from running them at
1500 watts on HF?  If so, I'm amazed.  When I was in the Air Force, we ran
them at much higher power than that well into the GHz range and NEVER had an
issue.  

Of course, they were MILSPEC connectors crimped with a MILSPEC crimper on
MILSPEC cable feeding MILSPEC antennas.  Perhaps you really DO get what you
pay for!

I use a lot of crimp type N connectors and like them, but just running 
the legal limit into the band edges on 160 or even 75 has cost me a 
number of them.

What I need are standard connectors to fit LMR-600 and that pretty well 
limits me to N and UHF.  Finding UHF connectors to fit LMR-600 has been 
a chore.  Some of the suppliers no longer even have LMR-600 cable or 
connectors listed. So far the only one I've found carrying them has been 
the wireman and he's out of stock.
