Hi Dave,
These are pretty much what HyGain puts on their AV-620 and AV-640 antennas. 
I had a spare and put one on my 160 meter vertical.

In addition, I also have the I.C.E. Lightning suppressors on my yagis and 
verticals. They beat the Polyphaser units hands down.
