[TowerTalk] surge protectors

Since I am moving back to Florida, the lightning capitol of the US,  
lightning protection is a real issue.
 
I will be building a new home and I want to incorporate a  surge protector 
into the electrical service entrance.  If I just specify to  the electrical 
contractor " a surge protector" what I will probably get is the  cheapest 
one he can find at an inflated price.  
 
Does anyone have any recommendations as to brand and model, based  on 
personal experience or field knowledge?
