One of the fitters I used to weld for in a steel shop 40 years ago, had me use.... bacon grease! He said it worked in WWII, when bits and oil were scarce. I still use it for repetitive drilling, or any drilling in steel over ~1/16" thick. It saves bits and time. 73, Tom, KT9OM
