[TowerTalk] My 48' Delhi -BOLTS FACING OUT? (link > pix >info)

Thanks for all the comments on my Delhi tower guys/gals.

I can't find any kind of installation manual online, so I am wondering about
when someone said the bolts should
actually be installed so they are "pointing out" with the head of the bolt
INSIDE the tower and the lockwasher/nut on the OUTSIDE (opposite to
most/all? I've seen)....is there a reference to that, or can someone here
speak with some authority on that type of installation procedure?

There's a whole story about this....the gist of it is I actually had my arm
inside the tower, threading a strap through it, attempting to pull it back
vertical with a tractor a mere 2 minutes before it fell over the rest of the
way. My wife screamed and we ran....Never got a chance to try and pull it
back....
Yes, I was freaked out the rest of the night. Being hauled out of a
tractor bucket @ 15'AGL by a falling tower or having my arm wrenched out of
my body is a scary thought !

What are folks' opinions on nuts with nylon inserts in the cap? We
refurbished a Jontz tower, and used them. They seem to be doing very well
  after 5 years.

I think it depends a lot on what kind of lock washer is used.

I used to work on heavy equipment in the woods and we've seen instances
where the lock washers just rusted away and fell out. Don't think you'd
want to use just plain steel lock washers. 73
