 How heavy is 55G /foot or so, and how much torque is allowed? Then it should be rather simple to calculate how long tower you could pick up.

    I've picked up 90 feet of 45G laying on the  ground slung from the top 
of the tower with no problem. 55G would be  heavier so you might consider 
80' of it as a safe limit. Do a test lift  and see how comfortable you are 
with it.
