You might consider Holobar thick wall aluminum tube, available from 
several sources on the web  I usually find scrap ends at my local SIMS 
metal recycle yard or local Al remnant dealer.

A job shop could turn the id of the stock 2.5id x 3od to whatever you 
want or find a friend with a lathe and a boring bar.  It's a simple 
small job for a 10 or 12" length.
