Why don't you have Chris make you some proper stand off's, for the price you
can't beat them.  They are made with extra big loops so that the coax and
cables do not snag.

I think that I saw a short article in QST in the past two years about how to

make coax standoffs for a tower using Schedule 40 "Ts". I think that a "T" 
was fastened at the top of each section of the tower. Then the coax & 
rotator cable was put thru the standoff. When the tower is raised or 
lowered, the coax slides thru the standoff.
    Any idea which issue of QST & page it is in? Up until now I have been 
taping the coax to the tower legs about every five feet when it is raised. 
Then I have to cut the tape off when I lower it.
