[TowerTalk] Fiberglass cross-boom material?

The vaulting poles I have used were about 1.5" OD, .125 wall.  A 5' piece is quite stiff, it's not like plastic pipe spaghetti.
They do come in different sizes for high school, men's/women's, Olympic class, etc.

Bought mine dirt cheap as reject poles from the factory back in late 70's. Factory junks them if they don't pass 
the rigorous inspections required to certify them for vaulting use.  Had to submit a serious statement 
that they would *absolutely* not be used for vaulting since they had minor flaws making their safety uncertain. 
They were fine for antennas, however.  Probably now couldn't acquire any that way in today's litigious society...

Used them for a 4-el spider quad spreaders.  Have also used them for ~12' masts for a 30M 1/4-wave vertical 
and another for a large TV antenna support.  Also used piece for side arm off tower for inverted vee support.
