I found the 8 foot ground rods at the local electrical wholesaler who was very happy to sell them at half Lowe's price. My electrician buddy drives the 8-footers through very rocky earth, no top soil herein LHC. He used a Bosch hammer drill; went in like through butter. I was astounded. Warren; W7WY
