[TowerTalk] Ground Rods

Dan,

I have just installed an additional 8 ft. ground rod. I used a 5/8 copper
clad steel ground rod from Home Depot.

It went in very easy in caliche/limestone base below the top soil. I used a
small electric jackhammer. Just remove the hammer bit and place the driver
over the ground rod. Most of the driving was accomplished with just the
weight of the Jackhammer. It took a little manual force to get thru a rocky
area about 4 ft down. Otherwise an effortless way to sink the rods.
