[TowerTalk] Stacking Moxon XM240 and Kt34/36xa

I had a serious interaction between my XM240 and my C3 with about 13 feet of
separation when I put them up. I ended up having to turn the C3 90 degrees
from the 40 meter beam. It seems fine now. A friend of mine put up a
converted XM240 (to a Moxon) and it worked real well but only lasted about 6
months before it fell apart in the wind. I would certainly put up the "heavy
duty version".

I have used a 402CD and KT-34XA since the early 1980's. There is slight SWR

change on 15 on the KT-34XA. The 402CD is mounted 9 feet above the KT-34XA.

I have not attempted changing to a Moxon version but there is much more
interaction between the XM240 and the KT-34XA. The KT-36XA loads the boom
so the boom becomes resonant on 40. I plan to upgrade using the
modification kit but use the 34XA boom to element mounts to avoid the
problem.
