Mike
You might consider looking for a bus/trolley/phone company to see if they have any used steel utility poles. I bought some years ago for a buck a foot. These are far stronger than schedule 40 anything. They are rated to be run into by a car ! I used several of them at my old qth and they did fine, holding up a 90 foot Rohn 45. I planted them 3 feet deep in an 18 inch hole, concreted in place.
I currently plan to use some 8 inch well casing set 6 feet deep, concreted, both outside and filled to near the top for my guy anchors top hold my 150 foot Rohn 55. I'll have mine sticking out of the ground about 6 or 7 feet.
BTW, why do you think you need the guys above your grandchildren ? It's glamorous to SAY I need it this high but in all likelyhood, if you tell them to leave them alone, they will. Once they get 'clothes-lined' playing around them, they won't do it again. Go ahead and call me heartless but we don't need to protect kids from themselves. They need to learn some lessons themselves. This is why we have so many weenies today - they had been over protected from themselves and will eventually get hurt REAL bad bcuz of their lack of personal experience.
