There are a few additional reasons why it could be
quieter. Specifically, the antenna is a loop (albeit
with a resistor), which means it is always electrically
symmetrical and less sensitive to corona noise.
The electrical symmetry means the antenna is less
sensitive to common mode noise that is transported to
the antenna from the feedline.
Of course, a delta loop has these same characteristics.
