*inexpensive* steel <grin>


realistically, it's some normal cold rolled steel of some sort (a 1xxx 
series) that's easy to weld and form.  It's not like they're going to 
make it out of 4160 Chrome Moly or some exotic Maraging steel.

The strength comes mostly from the shape/lattice
