Yes, the more I've thought about it, the better it sounds.

Did you miss that this is a LONG BOOM Yagi?  It's 22 ft. I need lots of 
dB to get to that repeater. Don't think I can use this method. :)

That's what they were thinking.   It's me that's thinking about a side 
mount.
