These riser clamps look dangerous - too easy to slip off!

A modified piece of angle iron, fastened with a saddle or muffler clamp,
seems better. With the flat part of the angle iron up, cut a slot with a
hacksaw a the tip of the step and bend it upwards and both sides. Hope it
makes sense. Good luck!

Use 2" riser clamps. Any commercial plumbing supplier or building sprinkler
supplier would have them.
