If you put a PC in the mix, you could probably do it for about $100 in 
parts and one of the cheap LabView clones.. the $100 would go for one of 
those USB multifunction data acquisition pods like the "labjack".. hook 
a pot up, hook the feedback pot from the 2800 to it, and figure out how 
to connect the digital or analog outputs to the motor controls..

Then "draw" the control loop and execute..

That said.. it's more than a casual weekend project. so you're looking 
to see if someone has already done at least part of it, and you'd have 
to have the skill set for the remaining part.
