The preferred method is to use Silver Solder.

Typical rosin-core connections will deteriorate over time through
exposure and/or contact with minerals in the soil, acid rain, &
temperature cycles. Usually not a problem "on the ground,"
when doing connections with radials, for instance, but can be problematic
aloft. It IS worth the attention to detail if possible...
