[TowerTalk] Looking for a good, mechanically rugged, and anti rust paint

I've had great results with Rust-Oleum Direct to Metal (oil) alkyd 
enamel paint (Grainger stock item, others as well).  I use two coats of 
primer, red first, then grey to prove coverage, followed by two coats of 
finish color, mostly Safety Yellow, all HVLP applied. Structural stuff 
that is in use and left outside for 10 years still has gloss and no 
rust.  I can't speak to repeated wear resistance, that may require a two 
part epoxy paint.  I've found the 100% solids versions to be very user 
unfriendly - hard mixing, fumes, short work times, critical surface prep 
& special solvents for cleanup. OTOH, the RustOleum water based two part 
epoxy floor paint is easy to use, but nowhere as tough as the 100% 
solids.  Both are around $140/gal.
