[TowerTalk] PL259 Insertion Loss?

You bet they're unreliable.  I did a bunch of phasing  harnesses back in 
the 80s with cheap T connectors.  Most were around at  100+ feet.  It was a 
real PITA replacing them as they crapped out.   Amphenol forever!
