[TowerTalk] LM-470 D and Rotors

I have used several of the Yaesu SDX/DXA rotors in a Tri-Ex LM470 tower. I
was able to transfer the Yaesu bolt patterns to the "Ham-M" base plate, then
drill new holes. Works like a champ. Can't address other rotor models.

Subject: [TowerTalk] LM-470 D and Rotors

I am replacing my current LM-470D Tri Ex tower with possibly another one.
When I do, I want to use a different rotor in it. Currently I am using a Ham
IV with beefed up parts and that has held up reasonably well but not without
failure. The paperwork I have for the LM 470 says a “Ham” style rotor or a
small prop pitch is what will fit. I am also aware that these parameters
were written many years ago and circumstances have changed and new rotors
have come onto the market. I am aware that if one uses spacers between the
rotor plate and the base of the rotor that a T2X will fit in the tower. That’s
good but what else will also fit the tower? What kind of rotor, different
from a Ham-IV or T2X are you using in your LM 470 D tower or do you know of
someone using something other than what I have mentioned?

Thanks very much
