Subject: [TowerTalk] Wall thickness?

Howdy -

I'm fixing a couple of broken F12 elements and need to know what the
typical wall thickness is for normal aluminum antenna elements. It seems to
me that 0.058" is a number I've seen before but want to confirm that. Tnx.

Cheers,

## I have the F-12 80m rotary dipole, their 3 el 40m yagi, and 5 el 20m yagi, and their 6 el 15m yagi.... and all of em
use .375” OD x .035” tips. None of em vibrate at all, and zero tip failures. The REST of the tubing on the 20 and 15m yagis is all .049” wall.

## The .049” wall is a dumb idea, since what it goes into has to be swedged slightly. If u stuff more tubing inside each other, for a bigger overlap,
the extra portion past the 3” long swedge is now hanging in mid air!

## Tubing come in .035” .049” .058” and .065” then .083” etc.

## DX eng is super fast with delivery, and well packed. You can buy their tubing in either 3’ lengths or 6’ lengths, at least for the .375” diam stuff,
both come in .058” wall.

## 3’ of .375” OD x 3’ long is $1.45 6’ of .375” OD x 6’ long is $2.95

The above is 6063-T832 alloy.
