[TowerTalk] Source for tower/vertical base insulators?

Back in the 70's when I first got my ticket, Bob Kastle - K4TQW had a 
vertical fashioned from tower that utilized three six ounce Coke bottles 
for leg insulators. They were each filled with cement.  When I asked 
about the cement, Bob said, "That's just in case one of them shatters."

Bob's 40m vertical stood until after he was a silent key.
