Hi All,
Most high tensile horse fence wire is high tensile class III Zinc Galvanized high carbon alloy.
The 300 series stainless steels are magnetic, while the 400 series stainless steels are only slightly magnetic.
Stainless steels like PH 17 are used as radiators in both low and UHF frequency whip antennas.
The conductivity of these materials are roughly 2.2 percent of copper. The AC resistance of these metals will change with frequency and resulting skin effect depth.
The zinc plating generally will provide a full generation of rust protection.
73 and Happy DXing,
Mike
