[TowerTalk] TowTec electric winch gear train needs a good, loving home

This is a handyman special.  My crankup tower came from its original owner
with a TowTec electric winch.  I used it successfully for a couple years
then the motor crapped out.  I tried to get the motor repaired but was
unsuccessful then the motor shop "lost" the motor.  

 

As a result I have been using a manual winch and get a good workout raising
and lowering the tower.  one of these days I will address the winch issue.

 

So I have the complete winch assembly with remote switch and plastic cover
less the motor sitting in the basement and I would like to dispose of it.
and I do have a copy of the manual.

 

If anyone is interested in this project, I will let it go for the actual
cost of packing and shipping at the UPS Store.

 

I believe that a standard motor can be used, there was a small spur gear
brazed to the motor shaft.  This spur gear will need to be created.  I would
also suggest overhauling the electrical wires, switch box and switching
arrangement.
