But wait, the gurus haven't finished yet... It is one thing to beat a dead
horse but peeing on its grave each year on the anniversary of its death???
(Discussing the type of floral display/wreath to place at the gravesite on
the 10th, 25th, 50th and 100th anniversary??????????)

I agree Doug. Just hook it up and use it! It will work just fine. Too much
nit picking...

Well, the prompting question (Subject = RG-149) was posted on Dec 12 by
VE3YF.

He wanted to know about RG-149.

My comment questioned whether or not 50/75 Z line even mattered.

After lots of great discussions, I think it's time for a practical answer,
based on what has
been posted and what is available on the web.

Take a look at VE3YF's home page. His "schematic" shows that he is running
a pair of AL80Bs
(or his classic station utilizes an SB200 amp).

These are tube amps and as such, again from the discussion, should be able
to match any
mismatch caused by using 75 ohm coax.

Since he can secure the coax for (nearly?) free, I say, GO FOR IT. Anyone
disagree?
