I can see a clever use of crossed needles in a PA to display "DC power 
input to the final", which might be of dubious usefulness given the 
modern PEP style power limit, but would have been the hot ticket back in 
the day.

ANother clever use would be to create a faceplate that has "safe 
operating area" marked on it.
