Hi Roger,
My experience is that the hinged base introduces more movement into the
whole tower. I bet I know someone in your neighborhood who would be glad to
climb to help you out.

Subject: [TowerTalk] Rohn 25 question
I am in the process on ordering a Rohn 25G kit and the question that I am
dealing with is whether to purchase the free-standing base or the
free-standing hinged base. I do not think that I will have a problem
climbing a 30 foot tower, but that may not always be the case.
So the question is one of how difficult is it to lower 30 feet of Rohn 25G?
It has been 20 years since I had a tower; it was about the same height and
was free standing with the short base length in concrete. Does the hinged
base on a 30 footer work well and I suspect that for one person, I would
need a winch of some size. Any thoughts and experiences would be welcome
either on this board or off-line. Thanks in advance.
