[TowerTalk] NeverWet - You have to see this video

Of course I watched the video ... back a few months ago when somebody
else previously posted it to TowerTalk. I also checked the price
(something like $100 per gallon), the method of applying it (somewhat
critical two coat system), and the durability of it (it wears off in a
few weeks and requires regular reapplication).

At the time I thought that applying it to a toilet basin might be a
useful thing to do, but I was dissuaded by the high cost of the stuff.
Then it occurred to me that Rain-X (the stuff you apply periodically to
your vehicle windshield) might serve the same purpose, albeit a bit less
dramatically, so I bought some Rain-X and coated one of our toilets with
it. It made cleaning it so easy that my wife applied it to all of our
other toilets as well. I mentioned all of that to a friend and he said
that he uses it (Rain-X) on glass shower stall walls to help prevent
alkali build up.

By the way, the only reason you might want to "waterproof" a tower
foundation is to minimize freeze/thaw spalling of the surface in some
environments. Concrete being wet in almost all other situations is a
good thing, not a liability. And you do know that concrete is porous,
right? You can't keep moisture from entering the other surfaces of a
tower base.

So as you can see, I have "participated" in the thought process for this
stuff ... probably more so than you have.
