[TowerTalk] Mast recommendations

Best FD mast I've used was the two years when two of us ran 1B (5wts
battery).  The transportable mast  - better known as a bucket truck - was
borrowed from the local cable company (the other ham was highly placed
there).  Put beam on short mast threaded thru a few cinder blocks, a rope on
the front of the beam boom for rotating, and hung a couple of inverted Vees
for 40 and 80 off the side.  Set everything up on the ground and then hit
the up button.  Reversed process at tear-down.  

 

Think sign company, local contractor, communications or hydro(electric)
company...  one of your club members probably has a connection.
