As I have posted on this reflector several times, I am in the process of
putting up an 89 foot crank-up tower. The manufacturer will be sending me
the analysis I need for the building permit, wet stamped by a Professional
Structural Engineer who is licensed in my state, South Carolina.

I have tried to find a PE in my state who has actual experience with
towers, but the few I can find are too busy to help me. I have also tried
the engineers listed as Volunteer Consulting Engineers by the ARRL. Yes,
there are plenty of structural engineers in South Carolina, but I don’t
want to pay for their education as they learn the structural aspects of
towers, masts, antenna wind loading, thrust bearings, etc.

I am looking for a PE, who can be located anywhere in the country, to help
me with the many questions I have about the details of the design and
installation of my tower. The person I am looking for is someone who has
long-term experience with the installation of numerous towers. Of course,
I am prepared to pay for their time.

Have you worked with a PE who has substantial experience with towers and
you can recommend?

Your help would be greatly appreciated as I go about putting up my first
tower.
