Use em both,  then keep the one that works the best.  Probably your best bet
will be to get an antenna switch and keep them both

I am undecided if I should use a 1/2 wave dipole @ 125 feet or a 1/4 wave
vertical. i could raise the feedpoint of the vertical about 50 feet above
the ground with a half dozen sloped radials. Any ideas?
