but with droopy ends (or hats or other stuff) it gives you more
variables to try and adjust the relative element currents (mag and
phase) and that does affect side/back lobes. forward gain is mostly
determined by overall length. Number and spacing of elements affects
side/back lobe structure. (to a first order)
