Arne, Thanks for the advice. I guess I am so ignorant RE hardline it didn’t occur to me.
I have Andrew 1/2 inch heliax with what looks to be a fairly large diameter copper covered aluminum center conductor. It looks to be something like 6 or 8 gauge. If the actual part number is needed I will unspool some and try to find it. This heliax is copper shield and copper coated aluminum center conductor.

Let folks know what mfr, type, size, etc of hardline you are seeking info about connector use.
HARDLINE seems to be a generic reference. Remember that 7/8" cable TV 75 Ohm "hardline" strung from pole to pole?
I use FXA 12-50J "hardline" (0.5" o.d.) has solid aluminum outer conductor, black jacket and solid copper center conductor, foam insuilation. (it is also designated as RG-331/U). It is an older product made under the FLEXWELL name that is a division of RFS Cablewave Systems. I make my own connectors (about $4 each plus my time) and they have worked out just fine for about 20 years. This "hardline" has specs for atten/power very similar to FHJ4-50A by Andrew even up thru 400MHz and higher. And the good news for me, our club got a LOT of it for free.
