Group,

I have just re-joined this list after about 5 years of being off the air. I
have an 10 year old US Tower MA-550 with the tilt-over and rotating base
(MARB-550) which has been excellent for all of these years but I just had a
failure and need assistance. The tower has tilted over and back up 4 or 5
times without any incident, but the last time I brought it down, it was
slightly unstable laterally, and when I started to raise it, the excursion
exceeded the play in the pin that inserts into the thrust bearing and
damaged that pin. Now the tower is sitting on a pin that is offset and will
not rotate, and, is likely not safe.

I feel it is important to know when to stop and bring in a professional and
I am there. I don't know how to bring the tower down safely as it is now no
longer stable laterally. I am in Seattle. Have a few photos in case there
are people knowledgeable on the list I can send to directly. Any advice
also welcome
