[TowerTalk] N1MM and rotor control

I have one Idiom Press card in a TailTwister and it works great. Unfortunately I think Idiom Press is out of business, or at least they are not responding to new orders. I tried to buy another one but could not get any response via email or phone. Phone appears to be disconnected.

I bought the ERC controller. So far it seems to work great. Does take a little bit of time to build it and install it in the control box, but it is more of an ‘add-on’ which could be removed if you wanted to in the future. Not difficult at all. (The Idiom Press unit is a complete rewire of the controller, at least for the T2X.) I bought the one that can control two rotators on a single USB port. Unfortunately I forgot to check if the logging programs support that option and I don’t think they do, but I can still use one output. But you can get a stand alone card that has the controller and the relays in a single card for a single rotator. Excellent response (from DL no less) and a very active support Yahoo group. The designer is very responsive to questions and requests. Highly recommended. Unit is high quality and instructions very good.

Just thinking about some increased automation. The tower will be an MA-550 with a 2 el Steppir and 1 or 2 el 40M.
A Yaesu G-800DXA should turn this. The Yaesu RS-232B is an amazing $600+ just to add computer control to a $500
rotor. The Idiom Press remote card doesn't have a positive review on EHAM for the last 2 years.

Any ideas?
