in the 70's I also had a Hygain Hy-quad up. My neighbor about 1 mile 
away and I had identical setups: Drake twins R4C/TX4C and SB220 amps. He 
had TH6DXX at 100 ft and  had Hy-quad at 100 ft. I could open any band 
before him and close it later, other times we were virtually equal. I 
worked my first 300 countries with this setup. That was as K4JYO. never 
had a problem with it but finally went to KLM Bigsticks... those were
