.0625" (1/16") error in a 17.78" average element length is a 0.45% error.
WOW!

Hey Buddy!! Long time no hear!!

Last time you popped up, I was working on my KT-34a. Long, Long, time.
15 years, at least.

Take a look at the pics. 28 of 42 elements are mis cut. What's more, 9
mistaken pair are adjacent and 1/16" different. This leads to the wrong
element being the right size or the right element being the wrong size!!
Confuse-o-rama!!!

So how does one build an antenna with 42 elements when more than half of the
element measurements don't reflect the instructions?? Not possible. I
guessed putting it together based on the pattern of elements. The antenna is
a match at 50 Ohms. As I've said, the rest of the performance parameters are
anyone's GUESS!!!

Any guesses about performance from this antenna are just that, guesses.
Modelling will only get you so far. As I'm sure you're aware, what happens
in a computer model oftentimes is not what is seen in the real world, i.e.
antenna range.

Again, look at the pics. Any questions? Look again. I have a receipt for
almost $700. It does equal that amount if I add the round trip tolls.

So for $700 I get an antenna that's 50% wrong and unable to be built without
guessing? I bet you'd go for that!!
