Not quite. A single turn through a core is inductive at HF. This makes 
the guy wire electrically longer, but it does NOT act as a common mode 
choke. For that we need to wind enough turns to resonate the choke at 
the frequency(ies) of interest. And, of course, that choke won't take 
the stress of the guy, so you still need the egg insulator. :)
