Before screwing the outer shell on the inner portion, flood the inside
of the connector with RTV silicone seal (non-acetic acid type - like
aquarium seal).
THEN .. screw the outer shell tightly onto the inner portion .. and do
the 'double tape wrap' suggested by others.
No water going to get into the connector/coax to do damage.

## u could very possibly end up with a real lousy shell connection,
as in something a lot higher than zero ohms. It would be a pita to take apart too.
## id use \DC-4 or DC-5 on the threads, = a tiny bit on the pin,
then wrap the outer shell with a rag..to protect the silver plating,
and tighten with pliers , or vice grips, Then a few wraps of 33 /88 tape.....then the
T+B heat shrink..then more 33/88 tape. Then skotch kote if u want.... but beware the
skotch kote stuff is not uv proof.
## check the detailed data sheet on both dc-4 and dc-5. DC-4 is the one to use... since
its V breakdown is almost double that of dc-5. 1000 v vs 545 v per mil.
